The Trainee AME position at Air India based in Delhi, involves conducting aircraft maintenance and certification in adherence to defined regulatory and company standards. Reporting to the Station Incharge - Line Maintenance, the role operates at the regional head level within the Engineering function, spanning across locations in Pan India.

Key responsibilities include utilizing available manpower to ensure aircraft serviceability, conducting team briefings, planning and rectifying observed discrepancies, certifying maintenance work, and ensuring updated documentation in AMOS. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with station-in-charge for manpower and equipment planning, maintaining valid authorizations, and continually improving knowledge of aircraft systems, civil aviation requirements, and company policies.

The Trainee AME is tasked with guiding, mentoring, and training junior staff, fostering their skills development. Moreover, the role holder may be assigned additional responsibilities as standalone projects or regular work, subject to agreement between the incumbent, reporting officer, and HR.

Required skills and qualities encompass attention to detail, ability to influence and align stakeholders, planning and coordination skills, technical expertise in maintenance processes, and extensive knowledge of compliances and safety SOPs.

Key performance indicators include handling customer complaints, on-time completion of assigned tasks, adherence to regulatory compliances, documentation accuracy, adherence to safety SOPs, and maintenance error prevention.

The position interfaces internally with engineering teams, analyzing technical delays and coordinating with MCC and Engineering Services, while externally liaising with DGCA representatives to ensure regulatory compliance.

Educational qualifications include a minimum of 10+2 (PCM) or equivalent, with professional qualifications ranging from B1 Stream to B2 Stream DGCA modular examinations, along with a desired minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience on transport category aircraft in a scheduled airline, specifically on Narrow Body (A320 Family) and/or Wide Body (B777 & B787).
